Student at Training Site
Tack Operator Training is a program to develop an individual to become an entry level heavy equipment operator. Programs include:
  • 4 week, 48 hour program
    Backhoe only
  • 5 week, 60 hour program
    Backhoe and Excavator
  • 10 week, 100 hour program
    Backhoe, Dozer and Excavator
  • 10 week, 160 hour program
    Backhoe, Dozer and Excavator

Tack Operator Training is State approved and each graduate receives a Certificate of completion and a Letter of Recommendation from one of the most respected names in the industry. For information on the programs click here.

INSTRUCTION:
The training site is located in Butler County, PA, and each student receives personal one-on-one instruction. Operation manuals, video and a basic safety checklist are provided to familiarize each student with heavy equipment operation prior to beginning of training.

REQUIREMENTS:
Students will need to meet with the Director of Instruction to discuss the program, tuition and visit the training site. Each student is required to provide his/her own safety equipment such as a hard hat, high-topped work shoes and ear protection.

Note: Alcohol and Drugs are not permitted at anytime during training.

DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION [Newton Tack]:
The Director of Instruction has over 45 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a former member of Operating Engineers, Local 66 Parent Body. He is involved in interviewing and hiring operators and instructing experienced operators on new equipment. He has also operated over 48 pieces of equipment including dragline, grader, Gradall, pan, excavator, backhoe and dozer.
